There’s a Chatelaine in
Every Lounge
Once upon a time, there was a woman living
in Canada. She was a happy and fulfilled woman and she willingly shared
her life with her finally-found soul-mate. There was only one thing that
she suspected her man might lack and that was the desire to exercise a
wild, crazy and risky sense of adventure.
So consequently, the woman set about to
gradually present her man with a whim that she had been harbouring
lately. She sat him down and began by telling him what a good and solid
man he was and how happy she had felt overall in their life together.
Then she said she wanted to open their hearts to other possibilities. She
had noticed that in her man’s past, his father had made sure that he knew
of all the good things in life, while his mother made sure he didn’t get
them. This was not a surprise to the man and he acknowledged that this
could explain some of his caution and timidity.
Next, the woman stated that she just wanted
to know that in theory he heard her, even though in fact he hadn’t, and
this was all that she needed. Quickly adding,
I feel you are holding me back, so why don’t we move to New Zealand?
And so it was determined, the couple would
go to the new land and forgo the joys of Canada with a Chatelaine in every
living room.
Once they were settled in New Zealand, they
were impressed with all the friendliness of the people and the flowing
life style. The woman said that everyone seemed more moral now than ever
before, except for the people that weren’t. They adopted a small dog and
told everyone that she was perfect expect for
her Foibles. Gardening was a way of life in this country, but the couple
didn’t really seem to take to it. One time the woman reported that the
hose must be broken because it didn’t leak any more. In a moment of
hunger and relative weakness, the woman mentioned that for some dim, she
would be prepared to go back to Canada.
There were wonderful gem stones in the new
land. The woman said that she was basic and down to earth and liked all
gem stones. She received many.
And that’s all true if you believe the
fiction I read. Really!
